Beyond Madeira
From canal villages to island caves and unusual hotels, these focused guides help you choose the visit, transport and stay that fit your plans.

Start with the kind of trip you want, then use the guides to work through the details. Do you want a city base with places to eat nearby, quiet days by the coast, or walks with transport arranged? Think about how much time you have and which parts of the trip matter most to you. You do not need to fit every sight into one visit.
Our first collection covers Madeira. Open the destination hub for an overview, then compare places to stay. The hotel guide looks at named properties, while the area guides help you choose a base. Read them together: a hotel can suit your taste but still be in the wrong place for the days you have planned.
Next, decide whether to drive or use a mix of walking, buses and booked trips. The no-car itinerary and car guide compare those options. For a walking day, use the hiking guide to plan both the start and the return journey. For a boat trip, compare the type of boat, meeting point and terms before you book.
Each guide includes practical limits and details to check for your dates. Prices, access and timetables can change, so our pages are a starting point rather than a live booking service. The Azores and Iceland collections are still in preparation. We will link to their guides here once they are ready; the cards above do not lead to empty destination pages.
